Digital leader announces launch of Z1 notebook to offer
Increased mobility and powerful performance
/Consumer Electronics PR News/ - AMMAN, JORDAN, March 18, 2007 - Anticipating further stability in notebook PC prices during 2007, global digital leader LG Electronics (LGE) forecasts more advancements for its notebook PC sales in 2007.
Pointing to a healthy 22.6% growth in its notebook and PC business during 2006, Mr. Kevin Cha the General Manager of the LGE Amman Branch, said "With notebook PCs emerging as centerpieces for convergence devices, LGE is now working to enhance this trend. The firm feels that it has market advantage which it gains through both its continuous zest for innovation and its immaculate control on market prices".
Commenting on LGE's latest notebook PC attributes, Mr. Cha added, "LGE's notebook PC business was boosted last year due to implementing an aggressive marketing strategy and the launch of the groundbreaking C1 and the environment-friendly TX Express. Both models have high sales volumes in all regions, and we are confident that it will face great appeal in the Jordanian market as well. The ground has now been set to surpass our targets for this year, and with our team, our product line up, and our capabilities I feel that this goal will be easy to achieve."
From his end Mr. Khamis Katout, the Managing Director for PC Jordan, LGE's distributor in Jordan for Digital Media equipment, "The introduction of the Z1PRO Express Dual notebook further underlines LGE's expertise in the notebook PC segment. We are confident that with the firm's range of premium products, we will gain a competitive advantage in the notebook market for 2007. LGE will strengthen its penetration into the premium market, by enhancing its existing line-up of notebook PCs, and by doing so it will also be able to cater to the demands of every sector".
By launching the Z1, LGE has strengthened its business notebook portfolio for professionals on the move. The LGE Z1Pro is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0GHz processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM and a 12.1-inch wide XGA screen. It features an in-lid secondary display based on the NVIDIA Preface media platform.
The Z1Pro also features the latest Windows Vista Premium Home edition, and a large hard disk capacity ranging from 80GB to 160GB*. Such applications serve to guarantee the core experiences of the next generation operating system flawlessly. By using Preface to enable Windows SideShow, consumers will have "always-on" access to multimedia content and software gadgets via a secondary display embedded in the notebook lid.
The Z1Pro Express Dual sports superior performance and stylish looks with its piano black, glossy finish, and weighs just 1.94kg. A portable design, stylish bright display, extended battery life, and multimedia features make it the perfect portable machine.
Windows SideShow is a new technology that allows the Windows Vista operating system to drive auxiliary displays providing consumers with faster to use bite-size bits of information. The NVIDIA Preface allows consumers to link to programs and data stored on the main system even when the notebook is in standby mode or turned off.
Equipped with high-performance internal hi-powered speakers of 3W (1.5 x 2), and the latest audio technology such as SRS WOW HD and SRS TruSurround XT, the Z1Pro delivers rich stereo sound. Some features that can be used without draining the battery life include music playback, photo slideshow, e-mails, calendars, world clocks, RSS feeds and more.
Additional features include wireless capability, Bluetooth, a 5-in-1 multimedia card slot, and a DVD Combo/DVD Super Multi Dual Layer. It is important to note that these new models are now available in Jordan for all members of the community to enjoy.
